14 Italian prospects have been invited to take part in this year’s Major League Baseball Elite European Camp in Terrenia, Italy. Amoung the Italian selected to participate in the camp you will find; Pitchers: Alessandro Ciarla, Michele Pomponi, Niccolò Clemente, Matteo Bocchi, Diego Fabiani, Gabriele Quattrini, Alberto Barchetta; Catchers: Cesare Astorri and Elia Marinig; Infielders: Leonardo Seminati, Matteo Pizzolini e Leonardo Colagrossi; Outfielders: Giorgio Massari and Federico Giordani.
Among the MLB Coaches you will find the likes of ex big leaguers: Barry Larkin, Steve Finley and Tom Flash Gordon. Rounding out the coaching staff will be John Mac Laren, and Steve Larkin.
Throughout the course of the last nine additions of the MLB’s Elite Camp a total of 68 ballplayers have signed professional contracts, including 14 Italians: Anselmi, Mercuri, Mineo, Andrea Pizziconi, Martone, Panerati, Matteo Pizziconi, Lucati, Schiavoni, Maestri, Liddi, Celli, Valera and Gasparini.
