2020 A1 Softball Standings and Leaders

Prior to departing for the U

Prior to departing for the U.S. to play in the , Erika Piancastelli (Forli) led the Italian A1 Softball League in batting average (.714), home runs (5), on-base percentage (.800), and slugging percentage (2.071). Forli teammate Beatrice Ricchi is currently the A1 Softball leader in RBI (15), second in batting average (.571) and home runs (2), third in both on-base percentage (.618) and slugging percentage (1.000), and fourth in hits (12).

Elisa Cecchetti (Bollate) leads A1 Softball in stolen bases (5) and doubles (4). She also ranks second in hits (14), triples (2), homers (2) and slugging percentage (1.037), third in batting average (.519) and walks (7), and fourth in on-base percentage (.618). Bollate teammate Marta Gasparotto is the league leader in hits (15) and runs scored (15). She is currently second in home runs (2) and fourth in both batting average (.517) and slugging percentage (.828). Amanda Fama has made the most of her limited at-bats for Bollate going 4-for-8 with two doubles, five walks, six runs scored, and three RBI.

Laura Vigna (Saronno) is second in on-base percentage (.645) and walks (10), fourth in runs scored (11), and fifth in batting average (.476). Saronno teammates Alessandra Rotondo, Sara Brugnoli, and Sarah Edwards are also making their mark in A1 Softball. Alessandra Rotondo ranks second in stolen bases (4) and third in RBI (9) with a .417 batting average, while Sara Brugnoli is first in doubles (4) and Sarah Edwards is third in walks (7).

Priscilla Brandi (Pianoro) is second in homers (2) and RBI (10) with a .333 batting average. A few of her fellow Pianoro teammates have also fared well this season. Tara Melassi ranks third in hits (13) with a .433 batting average. Eva Trevisan is third in both runs scored (12) and walks (7) with a .313 batting average, while Alisea Minardi ranks fourth in both hits (12) and runs scored (11) with a .429 batting average.

20200801 A1 SB Chantal Versluis SESTESE (K73_Nadoc)Chantal Versluis (Sestese) is the A1 Softball leader in walks (11) and stolen bases (5). Sestese teammate Giada Giannini is second in steals (4). Chiara Biasi (Thunders & Dragons Castellana) is first in triples (3), third in RBI (9), and fifth in slugging percentage (.792) with a .375 batting average. Francesca Rossini (Caronno) is fifth in on-base percentage (.609) with a respectable .438 batting average.

Elena Chiesa (Collecchio), Valeria Bettinsoli (Saronno) and Elisa Princic (Bussolengo) are looming under the radar. Elena Chiesa has 11 hits including three doubles with three walks, six runs scored, and four RBI. Valeria Bettinsoli has 10 hits including one home run with two walks, five runs scored, eight RBI, and one stolen base with a .435 batting average. Elisa Princic has seven hits including two doubles, one triple, and one home run as well as six walks, seven runs scored, five RBI, and one stolen base with a .350 batting average.

Italy Experience Camp at Concordia University IrvineIn the pitching department, Ilaria Cacciamani (Forli) is the A1 Softball leader in wins (4), saves (2), strikeouts (37), and lowest ERA (0.31). Pitchers Alice Nicolini (Saronno) and Laura Bigatton (Bollate) also have four wins. Not far behind with three wins each are Stefania Balloni (Sestese) and Sara Riboldi (Bollate).

Hurler Stella Turazzi (Pianoro) trails Ilaria Cacciamani by just one strikeout (36), while Laura Bigatton has struck out 22, Carlotta Salis (Caronno) has punched out 29, and Alice Nicolini has 27 Ks. Alice Nicolini also has the second-lowest ERA (0.53) with Laura Bigatton ranking third (1.28 ERA), Carlotta Salis checking in fourth with a 2.63 ERA, and Carlotta Salis registering fifth with a 3.00 ERA.
