On the 10th and 11th of March a selection of European Ballplayers will be taking on the Japanese National team at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. The two day series has been in the works for a while now, but has just recently come to light with the backing of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC). The tournament looks to be a push towards Baseball’s reentry into the Olympic Games in 2020 that are scheduled to take place in Tokyo, Japan.

The European Squad that will be taking on Japan will be led by Holland's National Team's head coach, Steve Janssen, while it will be Italy’s own Marco Mazzieri (Italian National Team’s head coach) by his side as the EU's bench coach. The two are currently working on a preliminary list of 36 athletes that will eventually be worked down to a 28 man roster by the 16th of February.
