Friday and Saturday matchups in the Italian Baseball League

Friday and Saturday matchups in the Italian Baseball League.

Nettuno vs. Rimini

On Friday and Saturday down in Rome it will be Nettuno welcoming in the Rimini Pirates for a two game set. Just a week ago it was Nettuno who got the best of Bologna in game one of their two game set, as did the Pirates in their matchup with the Godo Knights. Game two for both these clubs however fell in the loss column, dropping Nettuno to 6 and 7 mark and Rimini to a 10 and 4 recorded over their first 14 games of the regular season. This weekend the matchups should go as follows:  Estrada for Nettuno and Candelario for Rimini in game one, with either Salciccia or Ularetti going for Nettuno in game two, matching up against Richetti for Rimini. The first time these two clubs met earlier in the season it was Rimini that took both games, 5-2 and 3-2.

Padova vs. Bologna

Padova will do their best to keep their momentum going in their push towards a postseason birth, however their opponent this weekend, UnipolSai Bologna, can easily send this club into a downwards spiral with a sweep. Padova is currently sitting in 1st alongside Rimini at a 10 and 4 mark, while Bologna sits just a single game back at 9 and 5. Going for Padova in game one will be Quevedo in the foreign game and Enrico Crepaldi in the Italian game. On Bologna’s side of the diamond it will be Fleming on the rubber in game one while De Santis will get the call in game two. These two clubs spit their two game series in the opening weekend of the regular season back in March.

San Marino vs. Nettuno2

San Marino looks to be on the up-and-up after their two game sweep of Parma just a week ago, while their opponent, Nettuno2, continues to struggle… coming into this series with a team ERA of 4.37. Currently T&A San Marino sitting in a semi comfortable spot (4th) with an 8 and 6 mark, a game and a half up on Nettuno, while Nettuno2 continues to struggle at 4 and 10. Going for San Marino in game one of two will be Rodney Rodriguez, while in game two it will be Andrea Pizziconi. On Nettuno2’s side it will be Gonzales in game one and Milvio Andreozzi in game two. The first time these two clubs matched up it was San Marino that swept the series two games to none.

Godo vs. Parma

Facing off in Godo with will be the home Knights welcoming in Parma for a two game set. Back at the end of March these two clubs spit with Parma taking game one and Godo coming out on top in game two. As of recent it has been the Knights that have seen improvement as a whole… stealing games from both Bologna and Rimini over the past two weekends of play, while Parma seems to have gone silent after showing signs of life just a couple of weekends back when they swept Padova. Going for Godo in game one will be Uviedo, while it will be a strong Galeotti getting the nod in game two. On Parma’s side of the diamond it will be the southpaw Jimenez in their foreign game, while the game two starter has still yet to be named by manager Gerali.

All games will get underway at 8:30 pm and can be followed live on .
