Bollate and Bussolengo clash in Italian Softball Series Championship

The 2018 Italian Softball Series between host MKF Bollate and Specchiasol Bussolengo at Comunale Ospiate in Bollate is one of the most anticipated events of the season. With the series tied 1-1, the remaining best-of-three games will determine the next softball champion of Italy. The Italian championship title for Bollate has been elusive for the home team as the squad has not sat on the national softball throne since 2005. But this year something feels different for manager Luigi Soldi and his coaching staff of Andrea Dugheria, Bruna Manuelli, and Cedeno Vazquez.

Having won the 2018 Women’s European Cup Winners Cup Championship in the Netherlands just seven weeks ago, Bollate pitching ace “Iron Greta” Cecchetti is up for the challenge to beat Bussolengo, the 2018 Women’s European Premiere Cup Champion. If she stays true to form, Greta Cecchetti will once again prevail as the winning pitcher in the decisive Italian Softball Series Championship game. Bussolengo manager Craig Montvidas will most likely counter with pitcher Sierra Hyland to silence the Bollate offense and ultimately secure the team’s third Italian championship title in four years.
