Bologna secures top spot with a win over the Pirates, San Marino over Padova

UnipolSai Bologna officially locked up home field advantage on Thursday evening in Rimini thanks to the 6-0 win that was picked up by Fleming thanks to his 5 innings of 2 hit, no run ball

UnipolSai Bologna officially locked up home field advantage on Thursday evening in Rimini thanks to the 6-0 win that was picked up by Fleming thanks to his 5 innings of 2 hit, no run ball. Suffering the loss on Rimini’s side was Cherubini after he allowed 2 runs to cross in the top of inning number 5. Bologna tacked on 4 more runs in the top of the 6th off of Bertolini, of which included a two out two run shot off the bat of Suarez for the 6-0 advantage. The second of this three game set will be getting underway this evening in Bologna, with a scheduled start time of 9 pm. 

     

T&A San Marino picked up a win on Thursday evening in Padova thanks to their 6 to 5 win that was picked up by Berg in his 6 inning 3 hit, no run ball outing. T&A did all their scoring between the 5th and 6th, with 5 coming in the 5th off of 4 hits and an error, and 1 in the 6th off on an RBI single up the middle that plated Pulzetti for the 6-0 advantage. In the bottom of the 7th, Morrale and San Marino ran into a little bit of trouble after Padova was able to cross 4 runs in the frame to pull to with a two run striking distance. In the 8th the home team was able to cross another run off of Cubillan to pull to within just a single run thanks to a single off the bat of Malengo, one of three hits in the frame. Cubillan was able to settle down in the 9th, getting Padova’s 2, 3, 4 to go down in order for the save. The win for San Marino snaps a 5 game loosing streak, and locks up the third spot in the IBL’s round robin semi finals.
