Bussolengo wins game 1 of the Italian Softball Series

Bussolengo won the opening game of the Italian Softball Series against Forlì 3-1, before game 2 was suspended due to rain

Bussolengo won the opening game of the Italian Softball Series against Forlì 3-1, before game 2 was suspended due to rain.

Starting pitchers Vincent and Creger were in control early and had the game scoreless heading into the bottom of the fifth. But then back to back walks to start the inning started Bussolengo's decisive three run inning. Despite two runners being thrown out at home in the inning to put Forlì one out away from missing a great chance, an error, a wild pitch, and an illegal pitch scored three straight runs for Bussolengo, which would be all they would get all game.

In the seventh inning, Forlì would make things interesting after a Montanari RBI single pushed their first run across and put the tying run on base. It also drove Creger from the game and brought in Waldrop to relieve. Her appearance would take a single batter to earn the save, inducing a ground out for the victory and 1-0 lead in the series.
