Toronto native Trevor Grieve will be joined by an assemblage of international umpires as well as coaches, scorers, athletes, managers, and medical professionals at the CON6 Italian Baseball and Softball Convention at Palacongressi di Rimini from January 24-26, 2020. Trevor Grieve was the recipient of the 2011 Dick Willis Memorial Award, which recognizes Canada’s official of the year for their outstanding contribution and umpiring of the game of baseball.

Supervising umpire and instructor for Baseball Canada and Baseball Ontario, Trevor Grieve returns to Italy after having recently officiated at the 2019 Europe-Africa Olympic Baseball Qualifier in Bologna and Parma. Respected internationally for his work in the 2013 and 2017 World Baseball Classics as well as the 2015 Premier 12, Trevor Grieve earned his exceptional reputation as an umpire early in his minor leagues between 2001 and 2004 with experience in the South Atlantic League, New York-Penn League, Gulf Coast League, and Frontier League.

Trevor Grieve left minor league baseball in 2004 to become a police officer with the Toronto Police Service, where he’s worked for the past 15 years. Although the two professions are distinctly different, Trevor Grieve points out there are similarities as well. He said, "You have to take charge on a field and as a police officer you sort of take charge at a scene, you have to know the rules, the laws. There’s so many comparables between the two, it was almost a natural fit. It was the best decision I ever made."

Trevor Grieve now brings his special talents to CON6 2020 in Rimini. For a limited time, early bird tickets can be purchased for a special price of 30 euros by clicking . In addition, attendees will qualify for negotiated CON6 2020 rates at affiliated hotels by clicking . Forza #Italia!
