EuroCup 2015: Rimini and Bologna win easily, while San Marino drops one to Amsterdam

Rimini had very little problem getting past KNTU Elizavetgrad on Wednesday morning in Rotterdam. The final in this one went by the score of 8 to 1. Filippo Bertolini picked up the win for the Pirates with a strong 6.2 innings of work on the hill, allowing just a single run off of 4 hits while striking out 10. Rimini will continue their march towards a finals bid at the Rotterdam EU Championship Tournament with a game10:30 am game tomorrow morning against Templars Senart (France). 

T&A San Marino ran into a tough matchup with Rob Cordemans and the Amsterdam Pirates on Wednesday afternoon, as they suffered the 6-0 loss, dropping them to 1 and 1 after their win yesterday against UnipolSai Bologna. Suffering the loss for T&A was Carlos Teran, who was able to pitch into the 6 (5.2) where he allowed 3 runs (2 earned) off of 5 hits and 3 walks. On Amsterdam’s side of the ball Cordemans picked up the win with a complete game performance (6 hits, 0 run, 2 walks and 5 K’s - 113 pitches). Tomorrow at 3:00 pm T&A will take on the Solingen Alligators (Germany). 

UnipolSai Bologna got more then the best of Brest Zubrs (Belarus) with a 15-0 rout in their game on Wednesday afternoon in Paris. Bologna banged out 14 hits in this one, to their opponent’s 1. It was a no contest right off the bat as Bologna scored 6 runs in the 1st, 7 in the 5th and 2 in the 6th. Picking up the win amongst the three arms that threw for Bologna was Cadoni, who came on in relief of Luca Panerati who tossed up a perfect 4 innings of work, with 8 K’s. The win puts Bologna at 1 and 1 after the first two games of play at the Paris EU Champions Tournament. Tomorrow UnipolSai Bologna will take on the host, UPC Paris at 5:00 pm.
