Everyone is all set to go in Bologna this evening coming into what will for sure be the last weekend of this best of 7 Italian Baseball Series that currently leans in the favor of the Rimini Pirates 3 games to 2 over UnipolSai Bologna. Tonight’s game will get underway at 20:30, a game that has the possibility of seeing the 2014 IBL Champ crowned if the Pirates are able to walk away victors with Gonzalez on the bump. On the other side of the diamond Bologna’s righty, Williamson, will do his best to make sure the series goes to a game 7.

Expect to see the stands packed tonight in Bologna with half the fans hoping on seeing the series extended to a game 7, while the other half hopes to see Rimini close the door on their first championship since 2006. Tonight Bologna will be going with Joey Williamson on the hill, while in the *if necessary game 7 on Saturday there is a really good possibly that De Santis would get the call, especially as if Bologna will be without Marinez for the rest of the series. Bologna’s lineup should be business as usual, but we’ll have to wait and see who will get the start at third (Fuzzi or D’Amico) and who will be penciled in as the DH.

For Rimini it will be Enrique Gonzalez on the bump tonight. Gonzalez will be looking to regain the dominance he had in the semifinals over Bologna’s offense after thus far allowing 7 runs in only 8.1 innings of work in the Italian Baseball Series. If the series is to get to a game 7 Rimini may look to Corradini to throw up a performance similar to his complete game shutout ‘W’ in game 5. All the regulars are set and ready to go for Rimini as they will look to put an end to a two-year finals drought.
