President Andrea Marcon eloquently expresses a personal message to the girls, boys, women and men of Italian baseball and softball.
It is not easy to find new words to end a year as different and difficult as the one we are leaving behind. Paradoxically, we have had opportunities to exchange words more than in the past, sharing proposals, ideas and the desire to take the field. With all the necessary precautions and with respect for the rules, we did not let the situation defeat our passion. We certainly lacked the hugs, the handshakes, the 'high five', the pats on the back of celebration or consolation, but we all managed to play a season together against all obstacles and predictions.
It is a very large sea that we are crossing and the opposite shore is still distant. Many of us are doing it with a personal load of worries, in many cases of pain, really heavy, but I want to think that 2021 will bring all of us many opportunities to meet on the diamond, whatever the precautions we will have to take to protect ourselves but nonetheless united on the field to do what gives us joy.
Many appointments await us, from big events to daily workouts. What I wish for everyone is to face them with the awareness of how important it is to share what we love to do, to have the opportunity to do it.
On behalf of the entire Federal Council, I really wish to wish all of you, the great baseball and softball family, a peaceful Christmas, of closeness of hearts and thoughts, whatever the means by which you will make them reach those who love, and a new year that brings that normality that we have learned to be so precious.
