IABF proudly joins 75th annual NYC Columbus Day Parade

A sea of red, white and green took over Manhattan

A sea of red, white and green took over Manhattan. The Italian American Baseball Foundation (IABF), led by co-founders Joe Quagliano and Carmine Gangone, joined over 35,000 marchers participating in the 75th annual New York City Columbus Day Parade on Fifth Avenue from Midtown Manhattan to the Upper East Side on October 14, 2019. Heralded as the biggest celebration of Italian American culture on the planet, the Columbus Day parade praises the courage and spirit of exploration that motivated Christopher Columbus back in the 15th century to sail across the Atlantic and open a new world of possibilities.

With one million spectators every year watching the Columbus Day Parade, Italian Americans proudly expressed the love for their cultural heritage and ancestral identity waving Italian flags. The Columbus Citizens Foundation organizes the annual event to pay tribute to Christopher Columbus and the contributions of countless Italian Americans to the United States. With Italian luxury fashion business leader Massimo Ferragamo acting as the grand marshal, Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio marched in the 75th annual NYC Columbus Day Parade with the IABF not far behind. The Italian American Baseball Foundation is the only 501(c)(3) charity foundation committed to the growth and development of the game in America and Italy.
