In game of one of this year’s ISL’s best of five finals, it was Rhibo La Loggia that got off on the right foot with the 10 to 3 victory in La Loggia on Saturday afternoon. In this one it was actually Specchiaol Bussolengo that got out to an early lead against Rhibo when they were able to push across 2 in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd off of Elisa Brandino. The tides would quickly shift La Loggia’s ways beginning in the bottom of the 2nd when they were able to push across their first of 10 runs in the ball game. In the 3rd Ronchetti began to loose it for Bussolengo as she allowed 3 more runs and the lead to disappear for good. In the bottom of the 4th and 5th La Loggia push anther 6 runs to put the game at its final of 10 to 3. Brandino picked up the win for Rhibo La Loggia while it was Amanda Fama that did most of the damage with the bat, going 2 for 2 with 2 homers, 3 runs scored and 4 RBI’s.

In game two it was once again the efforts of Rhibo La Loggia that came out on top by the final of 2 to 1. The scoring was limited thanks to the efforts of two very dominant arms, Kimberly Bruins for Bussolengo and Beisser for La Loggia. Both pitchers kept the other teams offence in check for the fist 5 innings of play before each giving up a run in the 6th. For Bussolengo it was the bat of Bennet that got the scoring started with a solo shot to lead off the top of the 6th, while for La Loggia it was Dalbesio who crossed the plate on a sac by Avanzi. La Loggia picked up the winning run in the bottom of the 9th thanks to yet again anther sac that scored Avanzi for the walk off ‘W’. With the win Rhibo went a perfect 2 and 0 on the weekend, which puts them at only one game from their second consecutive ISL Championship.

This best of five series will continue next weekend in Bussolengo, the 12th of July.
