ISL: Bollate continues to dominate, Forli and Staranzano sweep

Bollate remained the only undefeated team in the Italian Softball League, topping Parma 4-1 and 6-0, and moved further ahead in the standings

Bollate remained the only undefeated team in the Italian Softball League, topping Parma 4-1 and 6-0, and moved further ahead in the standings. Legnagno and Saronno split two one run games, and Sardegna and Caronno also split, both series highlighted by 3-2 extra inning games in the second games of each, following dominant shutouts by Henderson (Sardegna), and Cohen (Legnano) in the two series Openers.  Bollate got a shutout of their own in an incredible 17 strikeout one hit performance by Grett Cecchetti, who was one single away from perfection and faced the minimum opposing batters as the only baserunner for Parma was erased on a caught stealing.

Meanwhile in Girone B, Staranzano and Forli completed sweeps, while Bologna topped Sestese in game 1 before game 2 was rained out. Forli nearly caught idle Bussolengo atop the standings, while Staranzano gained some important ground in the playoff hunt as the season reached the halfway mark.
