Italy slips up against the Czech and are then left behind by Chinese-Taipei

The Under 21 Italian National Baseball team has officially been eliminated from the second round of play at the inaugural Under 21 World Cup of Baseball in Taiwan

The Under 21 Italian National Baseball team has officially been eliminated from the second round of play at the inaugural Under 21 World Cup of Baseball in Taiwan. The elimination comes after an upset loss to the Czech Republic on on Monday by the final of 3 to 1 () followed by another tough 6-0 loss () to the highly favored Chinese-Taipei on Tuesday. Over the final two games of the first round of play, the Italians were able to muster up just 1 run off of a combined 5 hits, this after being very productive on the offensive side of the ball during their first 3 games of the tournament. 

Team Italy will now move onto the consolation round, where the best that they can finish is in 7th place in their pursuit towards the world ranking points that will make up the final 2014 Baseball World Rankings, a final ranking that will have implications on 2015 and the inaugural Premier12 tournament late next year.
