Leonessa Brescia claims 2020 Italian Baseball for the Blind Championship title after defeating Fortitudo Bologna White Sox 13-5

Despite Foritudo UnipolSai Bologna favorite Filippo Agretti delivering the ceremonial first pitch before the Championship at Bologna's Stadio Leoni on October 10, 2020, could not follow in the footsteps of the reigning Italian Serie A1 Baseball champions as the explosiveoffense proved to be too much. In the end, the visiting team from Brescia won its first-ever Italian championship title with a convincing 13-5 victory over Bologna.

Leonessa Brescia was first to get on the board in the top of the second inning when scoring five runs. Fortitudo Bologna White Sox answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning. Relentless Leonessa Brescia wasted no time in putting the game out of reach in the top of the third inning after four runs crossed the plate. The Brescia offensive attack was powered by slugger Sarwar Ghulam, who went 6-for-7 and made the record books with five home runs and 8 RBI.

In order to compete in the 2020 Italian Baseball for the Blind Championship, Leonessa Brescia defeated Patrini Malnate 7-2 in the semifinal game held in nearby Sasso Marconi. Sarwar Ghulam proved to be the difference with two homers. Fortitudo Bologna White Sox entered the 2020 Italian Baseball for the Blind Championship after beating Tigers Cagliari 12-4 in the semifinals.
