Padova, Rimini and Bologna all sweep, while down in Rome Nettuno was able to walk away with the split

Tommasin Padova continued to fly high after they were able to walk away with the 2 game sweep over the Godo Knights with a 1-0 extra inning victory on Saturday in Godo. Rimini sweeps their rival, T&A San Marino thanks to a 7-5 comback win. UnipolSai bologna wins a slugfest with Nettuno2 by the final of 10-8. Nettuno walks away with the two game split with Parma thanks to a huge 5 run first frame, leading to the 9-5 victory.  

Padova picked up their 4th win in a row and their league leading 5th overall on Saturday evening in Godo with the 1-0 extra inning victory over the Godo Knights. It took 13 innings in all to decide the victor, with Sandalo driving in the would be winning run with a single to right field in the top of the 13th. The win now puts Padova in 1st all by themselves, while Godo finds themselves at the bottom with just 1 win on this young season.

     

Rimini got the best of San Marino once again with the 7 to 5 win on Saturday evening. For the Pirates it was Richetti out of the pen that proved to be the difference maker, while with the stick it was Leo Zileri that came up with a huge two out, two run double to left center in the top of the 9th that gave Rimini the 7 to 5 advantage. This was a big come from behind victory for the Pirates, especially after getting swept just a week ago by Padova. With he win Rimini now moves to a 4 and 2 mark on the season, while San Marino drops to 3 and 3.

     

With two doubles and a two run shot off the bat of Maldonado, Nettuno was able to put together a huge 5 run first inning against Yomel Rivera. Parma did do their best to crawl back into this one, making it a 7-5 game in the 7th, however thanks to a continuous offense that was led by José Ferrini’s 5 for 5 day at the plate, Nettuno was able to hold on for the 9 to 5 victory. With the win Nettuno now moves to a 2 and 3 mark, while Parma currently sits at a 2 and 4 mark. 

Angel Service Nettuno2 dropped the second game of their two game set with UnipolSai Bologna on Saturday night by the final of 10 to 8. It was a back and forth game, with both teams getting the best of the others mound. For Nettuno2, Gonzalez lasted just 1.2 on the hill, while on the other side of the ball, De Santis couldn’t get through the 5th. At the plate it was Cesar Suarez that impressed with a 4 for 5, 4 runs scored and 2 RBI day for Bologna, while on the other side of the ball Mattia Reginato successfully hit for the cycle, going 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Bologna now improves their overall mark to 4 and 2, while Nettuno2 drops to 2 and 4.
