Parma takes two against Padova, Nettuno and San Marino gain ground

1949 Parma B

1949 Parma B.C. took two out of three games against Padova, recovering from a 12-1 blowout loss Friday to win two close games Saturday. In a 1-0 game 2, Padova outhit Parma 7 to 3, but two of Parma's three hits were back to back doubles in the fourth inning with two outs to account for the games only run, as Uviedo and Gonzalez combined on the shutout.

A.S.D. Nettuno Baseball City pulled off an easy sweep of winless Novara to pull into a virtual four way tie atop the standings.

Rimini kept pace and dealt a tough blow to rival San Marino with a three game sweep. Sandwiched in between two easy wins, Rimini took a hard fought game 2 with a three run 11th inning behind RBI singles by Cardonna and Camargo and flawless relief by Corradini and Rivera to back a strong start by Richetti

Bologna was idle and remained at the top of the tightly bunched standings.
