Switch-pitcher Pat Venditte threw a scoreless eighth inning with two strikeouts and one walk to pick up the win and lead the Miami Marlins to a 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida. Pat Venditte signed a minor-league contract with an invite to spring training on January 6, 2020. He has been dependable so far in six appearances (1.52 ERA) with one win, one save, six strikeouts, and one walk in 5.2 innings pitched.

Toronto Blue Jays reliever Sam Gaviglio entered the contest with the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth inning and held the New York Yankees scoreless with one strikeout at George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, Florida on March 10, 2020. Toronto came back in the top of the ninth inning to score two runs and give Sam Gaviglio his first victory in the 4-2 win over New York. During his three 2020 Spring Training appearances in 3.0 innings pitched, Sam Gaviglio has been lights out with three strikeouts, no walks, and no runs allowed. Fellow Team Italy pitcher and Blue Jays teammate Jordan Romano has been equally as impressive by not allowing any runs in his five innings of work out of the bullpen with six strikeouts and no walks.
