It most certainly was not an easy task for Giuseppe Mazzanti to send out the message to the fans of the Rimini Pirates that he would not be rejoining the club in 2016 after his two unforgettable seasons with the club, in particular his 2015 MVP campaign that helped bring back the title to the historic organization. Mazzanti’s message on Facebook was a heart felt one that could leave nothing less the appreciation amongst the diehard Rimini fans.
"I wanted to write this message out of respect for the fans of the Pirates, thanking them for the affection they showed to me over the last two seasons. They made me feel at home, a fundamental aspect of my first ever championship season.” The words of the 2015 MVP, Giuseppe Mazzanti.
Mazzanti’s 2016 season and beyond will almost certainly be played with his his hometown team, Nettuno, after having played with the Rimini Pirates over the last two seasons, where he was finally able to win a championship that has deluded him throughout his storied career. This right handed sluggers ambitions will now shift to bring home his experiences in hopes of bringing back a championship title to the most historic franchise in the Italian Baseball League, Nettuno.
