Rimini over Godo, Padova gets past Nettuno2, San Marino wins in the bottom of the 9th, Bologna falls to Nettuno

Rimini took the the opening game of their two game set with the Godo Knights on Friday evening by the final of 1-0

Rimini took the the opening game of their two game set with the Godo Knights on Friday evening by the final of 1-0. The win now puts them at a 10-3 mark in 2015 and in control of the top spot in the league. Picking up the win for Rimini with a spot start was Escalona, while the save went to a very strong Victor Moreno. Rimini picked up the game’s only run in the 5th, Bertagnon led off the frame with a single through the right side that was followed by a successful hit a run with Macaluso at the plate… putting runners at 1st and 3rd. After Bertagnon was eliminated at the plate on a Babini ground ball to third, Di Fabio was able to come up with the clutch single though the left side of the diamond that plated Macaluso for the 1-0 lead and eventual victory. This two game set will continue this evening in Godo with a start time of 8:30 pm.

Paul Estrada was brilliant for Nettuno down in Rome, as he proceeded to lead his club to a 4-0 victory over UnipolSai Bologna. The win allows Nettuno to keep pace in the loss column with T&A San Marino for the 4th spot in the IBL. Nettuno broke out for their four runs in the game between the 6th and 7th frames, with 3 of the runs coming in the 6th. The winning pitcher was Estrada with a strong 7 inning performance, while the loss was suffered by Fleming who couldn't get through the 6th. Imperiali and Paoletti both had two hit games, while it was Imperiali, De Biase, and D’Amico who were credited with the games RBI’s. This two game series will conclude tonight in Rome, with a game time of 8:30 pm. 

                         

Nettuno2 put a quick scare on Padova on Friday evening after they were able to take the 2-0 lead on the home team. Nettuno2 crossed runs in both the 3rd and 6th, however a disastrous bottom of the 7th which saw 6 runs cross the plate off of Gonzalez and Ibarra quickly turned the tables on any chances that Nettuno2 would be able to walk away with the victory. Of the 6 runs that did score, only 2 were earned as Nettuno2 committed an unprecedented 3 errors in the frame. This two game set will conclude tonight in Padova with a game time of 8:30 pm.

T&A San Marino just barely slipped past Parma on Friday evening in San Marino. Param was able to take a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the 9th, however Yoimer Camacho wasn't able to hold T&A as two runs crossed, with Vasquez crossing the plate on a throwing error by Scalera at third for the walk off victory. Picking up the win for San Marino out of the pen was Carlos Teran, while the loss went to Camacho. This two game set will continue tonight in Parma with a game time of 8:30 pm.
