San Marino gets to Fleming in a 'BIG' way, while Padova gets past Rimini in extras

UnipolSai Bologna and Marquis Fleming got banged around by T&A San Marino in San Marino in game one of their three game series on Thursday evening after suffered the 7 to 3 loss. Fleming wasn't able to pitch out of the third after he surrendered a run in the bottom of inning number two and five in bottom of the next frame… finishing with a line that read: 2 ip, 6 h, 6 r, 2 bb, 2 so. On San Marino’s side of the it was Rodney Rodriguez that picked up the win with 5.2 innings of work tossed up on the bump, where he allowed 2 runs off of 2 hits and 3 walks. At the plate for San Marino it was Carlos Duran and Joseph Mazzuca that led the way, with Duran posting a 2 for 4 day with 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in, while Mazzuca went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Game two of this three game set will now shift up to Bologna tonight with the game time set for 9:00 pm. 

In Padova it was an 8th inning double off the bat of Alvarez with Moreno on the hill for Rimini that tied the game up at 1-all… while it was Alvarez that once again doubled in the bottom of the 10th for the 2-all tie, which eventually setup a walk off pinch hit single off the bat of Massimilano Sartori for the win. Picking up the win for Padova was Enrique Gonzales while the ‘L’ went to Victor Moreno. The loss suffered by the Pirates hits home hard, especially after San Marino was able to come out on top in game one of their three game set with Bologna… which now sets them a full game ahead of Rimini in the push towards a finals bid. Game two of three will now be played out in Rimini tonight, with the first pitch set to be thrown at 9:00 pm.
