San Marino leads unbeaten

T&A San Marino was off a pretty good start in the 2016 IBL

T&A San Marino was off a pretty good start in the 2016 IBL. Skipper's Doriano Bindi side swept Novara on the road outscoring them 26-3. Novara were able to combine only 14 hits out of 90 at bats.

Padova and Fortitudo Bologna won their series against Parma and Rimini.
The defending champions Rimini were hurt by the weather. Game one was shortened to six innings because of rain and the Saturday double header was postponed to Sunday. Rimini played decent baseball (only 2 defensive errors and a .276 batting average) but couldn't manager to win both games on Sunday.

Parma showed a good attitude at bat. After blowing a 5 run lead in the opener because of a shaky defense and losing a second game plagued by weather delays, they came back with a 14 hit rubber match to win their first of the season.
Bologna won the series despite lacking 2 import players: middle infielder Cedeno and right hander Patterson.
