Specchiasol Bussolengo sweeps MKF Bollate to win 2019 Italian Softball Series

After defeating MKF Bollate 7-3 in front of a capacity Bussolengo hometown crowd on September 21, 2019, Specchiasol Bussolengo completed a three-game sweep over Bollate to win its fourth Italian Softball Series in the last five years

20190921 Bussolengo Campione d'Italia (MG-Oldmangency)After defeating MKF Bollate 7-3 in front of a capacity Bussolengo hometown crowd on September 21, 2019, Specchiasol Bussolengo completed a three-game sweep over Bollate to win its fourth Italian Softball Series in the last five years. With two home runs and six RBI to her credit during the Serie A1 softball championship, Bussolengo slugger Nerissa Myers was named 2019 Italian Softball Series MVP. Second only to Forli slugger Erika Piancastelli during the Serie A1 regular season, Nerissa Myers had a .500 batting average, .894 slugging percentage, and .660 on-base percentage.

Specchiasol Bussolengo starting pitcher Veronica Comar threw 4.1 innings for the decisive win before handing the ball off to reliever Beatrice Zappa, who pitched 2.2 scoreless innings. MKF Bollate starter Greta Cecchetti, who was the Serie A1 regular season leader in appearances (25), games started (20), wins (17), saves (4), and strikeouts (202 in 113 innings pitched), threw a complete game and struck out eight batters but also suffered the loss.
