Under the guidance of Bollate Tecnovap Innovi head coach Luigi Soldi, Greta Cecchetti threw a four-hit 1-0 shutout over Sparks Harlem in the Women's European Cup Winners Cup Championship game at Sportpark Schenkel in Capelle aan den IJssel, the Netherlands on August 25, 2018. Starting pitcher Greta Cecchetti struck out 11 Dutch hitters in her electric seven inning performance. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning when leadoff hitter Amanda Fama was hit by a pitch and later scored the winning run on an RBI single by Jamee Juarez. Bollate, the Italian representative in the 12-team Women's European Cup Winners Cup competition, ended the weeklong international tournament with a 9-1 record. Winning pitcher Greta Cecchetti (4-0) was undoubtedly the MVP of the 2018 Women's European Cup Winners Cup as she only allowed one run during her 29 innings of work while striking out 53 hitters. Let's hope she will be just as dominant for Team Italy manager Enrico Obletter in the next month.

Congratulations to the Bollate coaching staff of Luigi Soldi, Andrea Dugheria, Bruna Manuelli, and Cedeno Vazquez as well to all the Bollate players: Laura Costa, Alice Parisi, Amanda Fama, Giorgia Fumagalli, Linda Leonesio, Marta Chiodaroli, Sarah Pauly, Giorgia Perricelli, Elisa Cecchetti, Lara Buila, Lara CecchettiGreta Cecchetti, Laura Bigatton, Sara Zambelan, Sara Camisasca, Chelsea Goodacre, and Jamee Juarez.
