In game one of the other Mexican Pacific League semifinal, Tomateros de Culiacan defeated Caneros de los Moochis 6-4. The best-of-seven game semifinal series is scheduled through January 20, 2020. 

The 34-year-old Brazilian-born Team Italy pitcher is a four-time Mexican League All-Star. After pitching for Team Italy in the 2013 World Baseball Classic, Tiago da Silva was named Mexican League Reliever of the Year in 2014 and later signed by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2015. In his three 2019 Yaquis de Obregón regular season starts (17 innings total, 1.59 ERA), he went 1-0 with 13 strikeouts and two walks.
