With her eyes on the prize, Team Italy softball slugger Lisa Birocci looks to help Taipei's Caesar Park Warriors win the Taiwan Professional Women's Softball League Championship. The Caesar Park Warriors won the 2018 championship title with the assistance of another European import, Czech Republic pitching ace Veronika Peckova.
Currently awaiting for a visa to enter the country, Lisa Birocci will have to quarantine before being able to take the field with her new team. She will use the valuable playing time on the Taiwanese diamonds to prepare for her personal quest to bring home a medal with Team Italy in the Tokyo Olympics.
Lisa Birocci even managed to get the blessing of her late and great Italian softball manager Enrico Obletter, who encouraged her to compete in Taiwan. Lisa Birocci said, “Before his passing, Enrico told me to go and stay there as long as possible, until I was needed for the national team. Federico Pizzolini told me the same thing."
