The Team Italy women's softball squad meets for the first time under new manager Federico Pizzolini for a week-long series of workouts in Ronchi dei Legionari from March 20-27, 2021. A total of 22 players have been invited to participate. Prior to his passing, the late and great manager Enrico Obletter actively recruited two Team Italy softball prospects Brittany Abacherli and McKenzie Barbara, both of whom are Italian American from Southern California. They will be making their Azzurre debut in Ronchi dei Legionari. Elisa Cecchetti and Elisa Grifagno are also making their long-awaited return to the diamond with Team Italy.
Team Italy manager Federico Pizzolini will be assited by coaches Giovanna Palermi, Julio La Rosa, Andrea Longagnani, and Giulio Brusa as well as physiotherapists Elio Paolini and Ulisses Hernandez, athletic trainers Francesca Ambrouso and Andrea Cardone, team physician Gaetano Schiavottiello and delegation manager Claudia Venturini.
