Team Italy women's softball squad gathers in Ronchi dei Legionari to prepare for European Championship

Team Italy manager Enrico Obletter must decide which 17 players will represent the Azzurre squad in the European Women's Softball Championship from June 30 to July 6, 2019 in Ostrava, Czech Republic

Team Italy manager Enrico Obletter must decide which 17 players will represent the Azzurre squad in the European Women's Softball Championship from June 30 to July 6, 2019 in Ostrava, Czech Republic. He will get a final opportunity to assess his best 19 candidates and narrow down the roster when the women report to Ronchi dei Legionari for an exhibition game against a visiting American college softball team on June 20, 2019. Enrico Obletter A week-long training camp follows prior to 17 members of the women's softball team departing for the Czech Republic on June 28, 2019. It is the most important summer in recent Italian softball history as the top six finishers in the European Women's Softball Championship will battle against Botswana and South Africa in the Europe/Africa Softball Olympic Qualifier, which runs from July 23-27, 2019 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Decisions for Team Italy manager Enrico Obletter become even more difficult then since he will have to cut one of his players in order to comply with the Europe/Africa Softball Olympic Qualifier’s roster limit of 16.

Italian softball skipper Enrico Obletter will be assisted by coaches Federico Pizzolini, Julio La Rosa, Giulio Brusa, and delegation team manager Claudia Venturini. In addition, physiotherapists Valentina Pucci and Ulisse Hernandez as well as doctors Oreste Sacchetti and Gaetano Schiavottiello will accompany the Azzurre squad. Forza #Italia! #LetsMakeItHappen
