The 2015 European Champions Cup: T&A over Bologna, Rimini takes down Heidenheim

It was T&A San Marino who got past one of their Italian Baseball League rivals in the opening game of the Paris European Championship tournament by the final of 5 to 2

It was T&A San Marino who got past one of their Italian Baseball League rivals in the opening game of the Paris European Championship tournament by the final of 5 to 2. The win in this one was picked up by the southpaw, Rodriguez, while the loss was suffered by Fleming for Bologna. Bologna got off to the 2-0 lead after the first three innings, with 1 run coming in the second and another in the 3rd. San Marino picked up their 4 4th inning runs on 4 hits and an error and 2 walks. The hits were picked up by Vasquez, Ramos, Chiarini and Imeriali. T&A went on to tack on another run in the 6th after Imperiali reached on a throwing error by the third baseman, which was then followed up by a single through the left side off the bat of Santora after a sac bunt pushed Imperiali to second. 

Next up in the tournament for San Marino will be the Dutch cup out of Amsterdam who won their opener over the Solingen Alligators (Germany), the game will be played at 12:00 pm on Wednesday… as for Bologna it will be Brest Zubrs out of Belarus. 

In the Rotterdam section of the European Champions Cup it was the Rimini Pirates who got the best of their counterpart, Heidenheim (Germany), by the final of 8 to 3. Picking up the win for Rimini was Escalona, while it was Coradini who came on to earn the three inning save. Suffering the loss for Heidenheim was Luke Sommer, who tossed up 5 innings, allowing 7 runs (5 earned) off of 8 hits and a walk. Four players picked up 2 hits apiece for Rimini, of which included the likes of Desimoni, Mazzanti, Bertagnon and Macaluso. Both Mazzanti and Macaluso also drove in two runs each. 

Tomorrow Rimini will take on KNTU Elizavetgrad (Ukraine) at 10:30 am.
