Padova came onto the scene for the first time in 2014 with an inaugural IBL season that began in high hopes, as they proved to be a thorn in the side of teams like San Marino and Bologna. As the season matured the club’s rhythm slowed and eventually they eventually faded away, but 2015 most certainly brings high to the fans in Veneto. With the departure of Massimo Maniero, Ronaldo Uviedo, Nivaldo Acosta, and Reinaldo Pestana, Padova’s GM had to hit the market in search of a few names to fill in the gaps left behind. The new names of the list of ballplayers available for Padova’s manager, Khelyn Smith, will be First Baseman - Daniele Malengo (Bologna in 2014), Catcher - Luis Alvarez (Lara in 2014), Short Stop - Luca Martone (Nettuno 2 in 2014), Pitcher - Angel Calero (Godo in 2014), Pitcher - Carlos Quevedo (Navegantes Magallanes in 2014) and Pitcher - Enrique Gonzalez (Rimini in 2014). Of the core group left behind from last year, look for Erick Epifano to continue to impress on the national level as well as the hard nosed speedy outfield, Nick Nosti.
