The first two games of the best of five 2015 Italian Softball Series (Finals) began with a two game split on Saturday afternoon and evening in Bussolengo. In the series opener it was the home Specchiasol Bussolengo squad who came out on top with the 2 to 1 victory on the back of a complete game performance tossed up by Serena Boniardi. The game’s winning run crossed in the bottom half of the 7th off of Ilaria Cacciamani (L) on a two out single through the left side of the diamond off the bat of Hayli Wagner.
In the evening set it was all Fiorini Forlí, as they went on to take the game by the final of 6 to 2, with Blaire Luna earning the complete game victory (7 ip, 1 h, 2 r, 3 bb, 14 so). Forlí pretty much took the game with a huge 4 run 4th off of Wagner (L), as Bussolengo’s starting pitcher allowed 4 runs off of 3 hits, 2 walks, a hit batter and two errors. At the plate for Forlí it was Montanari, Bedwell and Laghi who led the way with their bats.
