The Italian Baseball League (IBL) is going through the last Spring Training week end

The Italian Baseball League (IBL) is going through the last Spring Training week end. Opening Day is on April 8.

Novara e Haar Disciples in campo durante lo Spring Training 2016As usual, the Blue F Ball tournament in Bologna (the 2016 edition is number 25) highlights the pre season. UnipolSai Fortitudo will host Tommasin Padova, Novara and the defending champions Rimini.
Fortitudo Bologna has had so far a win-only Spring, against Minor League teams of their Province (Imola and Pianorese) and the Bundesliga Paderborn Untouchables.
Novara collected a tie against Stuttgart and a loss against the Haar Disciples, both performing in the 2016 Bundesliga.
Rimini and Padova split their double header played during the Easter week end.

T&A San Marino will travel to Parma for a double header. San Marino, after cancelling because of bad weather the Spring opener against Godo (Serie A Minor League), split a double header (played in Piacenza) against the german Haar Disciples from Munich. San Marino pitching staff looked sharp, while the hitters showed they still need to get into the groove.
Parma has performed so far mainly against Minor League teams from their Province, outscoring Collecchio and Sala Baganza. They also lost (11-5) against the german Heidenheim Heidekoepfe in a match also played in Piacenza.

The only team that won't play exhibition games during the week end is Nettuno Baseball City. Manager Alberto D'Auria wants to see his pitchers and hitters play against each other in a live bp session.
Nettuno made also a roster move. Ray Olmedo was released from his commitment and the club signed cuban outfielder Onelio Fondin. Former Atlanta Braves Rookie League infielder Mattia Mercuri will have a chance to start at shortstop.
