The stage is set for the 1st ever series between Europe and Japan

The stage is set for the first ever two game historical matchup between Team Europe and the World’s top team in 2014, Japan

The stage is set for the first ever two game historical matchup between Team Europe and the World’s top team in 2014, Japan. This two game set will kickoff tomorrow with an opening ceremony scheduled for 5.25 pm local time. 

The World No. 1 Japan will be led under the direction of manager Hiroki Kokubo, and will feature a 26-man roster that includes 19 names that were on the list of the team that took down the MLB selection in the Japan vs. MLB series held this past November.

On Europe’s side it will be Steve Janssen (Netherlands National Team manager) who will lead the way as the skipper of his 28-man roster of names accumulated from five different European nations (by world rank): No. 5 Netherlands, No. 11 Italy, No. 17 Spain, No. 18 Germany and No. 27 France.

The Netherlands, take the honor of having the most players selected (15) to represent Europe, including 10-time Major League Baseball Gold Glove winner Andruw Jones, who played the past two seasons with NPB's Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles and played for the Netherlands in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

Italy will have six players representing Europe, including NPB's Orix Buffaloes pitcher, Alessandro Maestri, while Spain (4), Germany (2) and France (1) will also have a presence for Europe.

Tuesday, the 10th of March: Europe vs Japan Game 1 – 18:00

Wednesday, the 11th of March: Europe vs Japan Game 2 – 18:00
