The top four clubs in the IBL all take home victories to begin their weekend

Tommasin Padova continued their streak of “W’s” with a 4-0 win over Nettuno on Friday evening in Padova

Tommasin Padova continued their streak of “W’s” with a 4-0 win over Nettuno on Friday evening in Padova. Quevedo (win) was once again brilliant in his outing, going 7 innings and allowing just 3 hits on the day with 9 K’s. On the offensive side of the ball it was a third inning double off the bat of Sciacca that gave Padova a 2-0 lead, while the game’s scoring was topped off in the 6th with a solo shot off the bat of Medoro. The series will continue this evening in Padova at 8:30 pm.

     

Bologna had their hands full against Parma in Parma on Friday evening, as they struggled mighty on the offensive side of the ball, scoring just a single run in the contest off of a total of 4 hits. The game’s only run came off of a wild pitch in the third, with Russo crossing home plate on a ball thrown to the backstop by Jimenez. Picking up the win for Bologna was Fleming with 6 innings pitched, allowing just 2 hits on the day and one free pass. This series will conclude tonight in Bologna at 8:00 pm.

     

Down in Rome it was the Rimini Pirates that got the best of Angel Service Nettuno2 with a big 5 run 3rd inning off of the southpaw, Gonzalez. Picking up the win for Rimini was Candelario with 5.1 innings of scoreless ball. At the plate both Zileri and Mazzanti picked up 2 hits on the evening while Babini was credited with 2 RBI’s in his 1 for 2 performance at the dish. This two game set will conclude tonight in Rome at 8:30 pm. 

     

T&A San Marino was able to get back on track against the Godo Knights on Friday evening in San Marino with the 7 to 2 victory. Godo got on the board first in this one with a single run in the top of the 1st off of Rodney Rodriguez, however in the bottom half of that very same frame T&A was able to tie the game up at 1 all. In the third T&A went on to break the game open with a big 4 run inning off of Uviedo (loss), while it was Rodney Rodriguez that did his part, picking up the win with his 6.1 innings of work on the bump. This two game set will now shift to Godo tonight, with the game time set for 8:30 pm.
