Tokyo Olympics set to take place from July 23-August 8, 2021

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and the Government of Japan have announced new dates for the Tokyo Olympics Games (July 23-August 8, 2021) and the Paralympic Games (August 24-September 5, 2021)

The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and the Government of Japan have announced new dates for the Tokyo Olympics Games (July 23-August 8, 2021) and the Paralympic Games (August 24-September 5, 2021). Despite postponing the international competition an entire year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the summer Olympics will still be called the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020.

The Team Italy women's softball squad (ranked #10) earned a well-deserved berth to Tokyo after a 5-0 shutout over Great Britain (ranked #13) in the WBSC Women’s Softball Europe-Africa Qualification Final in Utrecht, the Netherlands on July 27, 2019. Led by Team Italy softball manager Enrico Obletter, the Azzurre squad was scheduled to kick off Olympic game action against USA at Fukushima Azuma Baseball Stadium on July 22, 2020. The new Olympic softball schedule has yet to be announced. Forza #Italia!
