Tommasin Padova punched their postseason ticket thanks to an 8 to 6 win over T&A San Marino on Saturday evening in San Marino. The win made it four straight games over San Marino for Padova thus far in 2014, a clean sweep of the season series. After suffering the loss and series sweep, San Marino will now take their postseason hopes into the final weekend of the regular season when they face off against Parma in a two game set beginning on Friday… they need just a single win or a single loss suffered by Nettuno (Nettuno vs. Bologna on Friday and Saturday in Bologna) to guarantee a second round bid. In this one it was San Marino that got out to the 5-0 lead after just 2 innings of play on Saturday. However, in the 3rd Padova began to chip away at the lead, eventually surpassing San Marino with a big 3 run 9th inning, of which included a huge go-ahead 2 run shot off the bat of Alvarez with D’Amico on the bump for T&A. Picking up the win with 2 scoreless innings pitched out of the pen was Carlos Quevedo.

Nettuno was able to hold onto some hope at a postseason birth thanks a 3-2 win over Nettuno2 on Saturday evening down in Rome. The win came in walk-off style for Nettuno with 2 runs coming in in the bottom of the 9th for the 1 run victory on 1 hit and an error. The win was awarded to Davide Anselmi, while the loss was suffered by Valerio Simone. The difference makers at the plate for Nettuno turned out to be the quality AB’s of Ferrini, Imperiali and Caradonna. Nettuno will still have a shot at the playoffs, however they will need to take two games away from Bologna and hope on a two game sweep of San Marino by a young Parma team on Friday and Saturday.

The Rimini Pirates had no problems disposing of Parma on Saturday evening, as they were able to walk away with the 10-1 victory thanks to a strong mound that was lead by Richetti (win) and a 13 hit attack that saw a 4 for 5 day by Alex Romero (4 runs scored) and a 3 for 4 day by Leonardo Zileri (3 runs score, 3 RBI’s, 1 home run). The win betters Rimini’s overall record in 2015 to a 16 and 9 mark, while dropping Parma to 6 and 20.

UnipolSai Bologna took it to the Godo Knights once again on Saturday evening in Bologna. The second game of this two game set when by the final of 8-0 in a 6 inning shortened affair due to a heavy downpour in the area.
