UnipolSai Bologna completed the three game sweep of Tommasin Padova on Saturday evening in Padova thanks to a come from behind victory in which they were able to put up 6 runs between the 7th and 9th… 4 of which came in their last attack off of the southpaw Calero (3.1 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 6 BB, 3 K’s). Picking up the win for Bologna out of the pen was Filippo Crepaldi, who went the last 1.1 in relief of Cova. Crepaldi had no issues as he face the minimum 4 batters in his 4 out appearance. At the plate for Bologna it was both Suarez and Vaglio who divided the 4 RBI’s in the game, both picking up 2 apiece. This three game sweep puts Bologna in the drivers seat with the first three games of 18 down in the IBL’s semifinal round now in the books. Next up for Bologna will be San Marion on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, while for Padova it will be the Rimini Pirates.

T&A San Marino used the long ball in their series finally vs. the Rimini Pirates on Saturday evening to walk away with the 7 to 6 come from behind victory. Two huge homers off the bat of Carlos Duran and a solo shot that tided the game in the 7th off the bat of Francesco Imperiali were the back breakers in this one, as Rimini’s mound wasn't able to hold a once 6-3 advantage. Suffering the loss for Rimini was Tommaso Cherubini who allowed a solo shot off in the bottom of the 8th to Duran that put San Marino on top 7 to 6. Both clubs had their opportunities in this one to blow the game wide open, however the timely hitting just wasn't their… especially on Rimini’s of the ball. Picking up the win in relief of Andrea Pizziconi was Junior Oberto, who pitched an impressive 6 innings out of the pen, allowing just a single run off of 6 hits, and 3 walks. Next up for San Marino will be the 3 and 0 UnipolSai Bologna club, while the Rimini Pirates will be taking on Tommasin Padova in a home-away-home three game set that begins on Thursday evening in Rimini.
