UnipolSai Bologna got past T&A San Marino by the final of 5 to 1 on Saturday evening thanks to a suburb outing offered up by Raul Rivero. Rivero was able to hold San Marino to just a single run over his 8 innings on the bump, where he surrendered just 3 hits while striking out a total of 11 San Marino batters. Bologna got on the board first with a run off of Oberto in the top of the 2nd, however San Marino quickly countered with a run of their own in the bottom half of the 3rd when Duran tripled to center… plating Santora from first. The game would stay close until Bologna was able to break out for 4 runs between the 7th and 8th when they to banged out a total of 5 hits, 3 of which were doubles. The win went to Rivero, while the loss went to D’Amico out of the pen for San Marino.

Once again it was Padova who came out on top on Saturday evening after they took their rubber match game with the Rimini Pirates by the final of 7 to 4. The game was a back and forth battle early on with Padova getting on the board first with a run in their half of the 1st, while in the top half of the third Rimini was able to take the lead 2 to1 after both Desimoni and Olmedo crossed the plate… however Padova was right back at it in the bottom half of the inning when they were able to pick up three to take the 4-2 advantage. In the top of the 5th with a runner on, 2 outs and Romero at the plate in a 3-2 count, Padova was almost out of the inning when Romero popped up a ball that was dropped in foul grounds by Alvarez (cacher), needles to say the very next pitch was deposited over the right field fence for the 4-all tie. In the bottom half of the 8th, Padova proceed to rally for 3 runs with 2 outs in the inning, leading to the eventual 7 to 4 victory. Picking up the win for Padova was Calero, while suffering the loss for Rimini was Victor Moreno.
