UnipolSai Bologna was able to lengthen their lead over the rest of the division after they were able to just get by San Marino with an 8 to 7 come from behind victory on Friday evening in Bologna. In the win Claudio Liverziani knocked out his 100th homer of his Italian Baseball League career, a homer that got the scoring started in the bottom of the 1st to put Bologna up 2-0. As for San Marino they were not able to hold onto the lead that they took into the 7th, even after an impressive performance from their 3, 4, 5 hitters (Vasquez, Ramos and Duran) who combined to go 8 for 14 in the box. The series will conclude this evening in San Marino with a game time of 9:00 pm.

Lino’s Coffee Parma got by the Rimini Pirates on Friday evening in Rimini by the final score of 5 to 1 thanks to a brilliant performance offered up by their southpaw, Yepez. The only run that Yepez allowed on the evening came off of a solo shot by Mazanti in the second inning. After the long ball, Yepez went on to set down the next fourteen batters faced, where he demonstrated perfect control of both corners of the plate. Suffering the loss for Rimini was Gonzales, as he was not able to command the zone, the exact opposite of his counterpart. Parma’s offense was able to show life not only off of Gonzales, but also off of Rimini’s Enorbel Marquez and Escalona. This three game set will conclude tonight in Parma with a first pitch scheduled for 9:00 pm.
