UnipolSai Bolonga walked away winners in a wild one on Sunday afternoon in their matchup with Lino’s Caffee Parma. The final in this one was 13-10 with the win going to Riccardo De Santis and the save to Raul Rivero (his second of the weekend). In a game that was expected to be a pitcher dual between Jesus Yepez for Parma and the newly acquired Baez for Bologna, things turned out to be a little different with Yepez being able to record only two outs in a 9 run 1st inning by Bologna, and Baez not being able to get past 3 innings after allowing an alarming 7 runs off of 8 hits and a walk. It was an afternoon that peppered with hits, walks and four errors committed by Parma that put the results at what they were. A total of 25 hits were collected by both clubs to go along with 8 walks served up by Bologna’s pitchers and 4 by Parma’s. In the end Bologna walks away with the ‘W’ putting them off to a 3 and 0 mark after just one week of play in the second round of this year’s Italian Baseball League, a full game up on T&A San Marino who took two of three from the Rimini Pirates on Thursday and Friday. At the plate for Bologna all but two starters had at least a hit, with going Infante 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, and Liverziani having a 3 for 4 day with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI’s. The Newly acquired Trent Carl Oeltjen also completed a nice weekend with 3 RBI’s, putting his total numbers after just his first three games with his new club to 7 hits, 2 runs, 4 RBI’s. Next week both these clubs will be off while San Marino and Rimini head off to the European Champions Cup tournament in Hoofddorp, Holland and Brno, Czech Republic.
