With the European Champions Cup set to get underway next week, the three participants out of the Italian Baseball League have anticipated their two game sets, kicking them off a day earlier then normal. Tonight in San Marino it will be T&A who will be welcoming in their archrival, the Rimini Pirates, while down in Rome it will be Nettuno2 vs. UnipolSai Bologna.
Tonight (8:30 pm) on center stage it will game one of the two game set between T&A San Marino vs. the Rimini Pirates. Game one will take place in San Marino, while game two of this two game series will move to Rimini on Friday evening (8:30 pm). For Rimini’s manager, Orlando Munoz, the first baseman, Spinelli, will be available off the bench for the first time in about a month, giving him more options on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Expected to take the ball tonight for the Pirates will be Candelario, while for Friday’s game a name has yet to be named, however look for the ball to be handed to either Richetti or Corradini. On T&A’s side it will be Figueroa instead of Rodriguez who will be getting the nod tonight for the home team, while when the series moves down the road to Rimini it will be once again Andrea Pizziconi. Currently Rimini is sitting with a 12 and 6 mark, while San Marino stands at 10 and 8.
The other two game set getting underway this evening is that between Nettuno2 and UnipolSai Bologna (8:30 pm). The home Nettuno2 club will be going with the southpaw, Gonzalez in game one, while it will be Andreozzi in game two. On Bologna’s side of the diamond it will be Marquis Fleming and Riccardo De Santis who will get the starts in game one and two, with the objective of limiting the workload on both these arms. Being activated on Bologna’s roster for the first time this year will be the reliever, Nick Pugliese. This two game set will conclude tomorrow evening with a start time of 8:30 pm.
