Alex Liddi becomes the first Italian player in the Chinese Professional Baseball League

Italian baseball ambassador Alex Liddi has bid farewell to Leones de Yucatan, a team he opted for instead of Guerreros de Oaxaca in Liga Mexicana de Béisbol, to begin his new career playing abroad in Taiwan's Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Alex LiddiAlex Liddi will join the Chinatrust Brothers baseball squad and replace infielder Eric Wood on the team roster. As reported by Mexican journalist Jose Molina, 30-year-old slugger Alex Liddi is expected to arrive in Taipei City so that he can serve as the everyday Chinatrust Brothers third baseman. Alex Liddi will once again make history as the first Italian ever to play in the CPBL. International baseball lovers remember vividly the day he became the first Italian-born and developed player to make it to Major League Baseball when he made his MLB debut for the Seattle Mariners on September 7, 2011.
