All eyes on San Marino and Padova

Tonight in San Marino it will be the home T&A who will be welcoming in Padova in game one of a two game set that will shift to Padova on Saturday

Tonight in San Marino it will be the home T&A who will be welcoming in Padova in game one of a two game set that will shift to Padova on Saturday. Both these clubs head into this 6th week in the 2015 IBL with identical 6 and 4 records and in a deadlock tie for third place in the standings, a game and a half up on Nettuno. San Marino will have their work cut out for them on Friday evening when Padova’s heavily stacked foreign mound takes the rubber. They are going to have to look for the likes of Vasquez, Duran and Mazzuca to get something going with the sticks, while the reentry of Chiarini will definitely be one more bat for Padova’s pitchers to worry about. As for San Marino’s mound in game one, look for the southpaw Rodney Rodriguez to get the call. On Saturday when the series shifts to Padova it should be a matchup that features Andrea Pizziconi for San Marino and Enrico Crepaldi for Padova. A series sweep by either one of these two clubs could have a detrimental effect on the outcome of the season.

Down in Rome it will be a two game matchup that features both Nettuno clubs, Nettuno and Nettuno2. Both clubs are coming into this weekend with sub .500 marks on the season, however it does look as if Nettuno is showing signs of being able to compete for a playoff spot. Getting the ball for Nettuno in the foreign game will be Estrada, while in the Italian game its going to be Ciaria. As for Nettuno2, it will be a the duo of Gonzalez and Ibarra who will look to rebound after a disastrous game played against the Godo Knights just a week ago. In the Italian game Milvio Andreozzi will be getting the ball.

Up next we’re going to take a look at the home-away two game matchup between a 4 and 6 Parma club that has shown they can hang with the ‘big boys’ and a 7 and 3 Rimini team that has played some very solid baseball thus far in 2015, apart from a second week slip up against Padova. On Friday evening in Parma it should be a matchup that features the southpaw, Jimenez backed up by the newly acquired Nivaldo Acosta and Camacho. On Rimini’s mound it will once again be Candelario who has been nothing but impressive for the Pirates thus far in 2015. When the series shifts down to Rimini on Saturday look for Bertolini to get the call for Rimini, while on Parma’s side of the ball it will be the Rivero.

Finally in Bologna on Friday evening, UnipolSai will look to take care of business against the Godo Knights. These two clubs head into this weekend on opposite sides of the spectrum, with Bologna sitting at the top in a tie with Rimini at a 7 and 3 mark, while Godo sits at the bottom with a 2 and 7 record. For Bologna on Friday it will be Marquis Fleming, while on Saturday when this two game set shifts to Godo look for Riccardo De Santis to continue his dominant ways on the bump. As for the Godo Knights, they will be relying on Ronald Uviedo in the foreign game and Matteo Galeotti in the Italian matchup. If Godo is going to have any chance competing against a very tough Bologna squad they are going to have to do it on the backs of these two righties.

All games across the league will be getting underway at 8:30 pm local time and can be followed live on .
