With rainouts and makeup games delaying the outcome, the Italian Baseball League regular season finally hit the halfway point, and with San Marino sweeping Parma, and Bologna sweeping Rimini, the three teams ended up tied atop the standings.  After dropping the series opener to Nettuno, Padova won the next two games to gain ground on the playoff hunt and move ahead of Parma, while idle Novara finished the first half with just one victory.

Bologna's trouncing of Rimini was particularly shocking, winning the three games 9-1, 9-2, and 13-1, capped with Ambrosino's two homerun 7 RBI outburst, dominating the defending champs and surely adding confidence entering the second half of the season.  San Marino held off a Parma rally in game two, sandwiched between two easy victories including eight shutout innings with 11 strikeouts by Quevedo in the opener.  And after being shutout by Nettuno in game 1, Padova exploded for 21 total runs in two easy wins to take the series.
