Bologna sweeps, Rimini over San Marino, Padova and Nettuno keep pace

Rimini got more then the best of T&A San Marino with the 11 to 1 victory on their home turf on Friday evening

Rimini got more then the best of T&A San Marino with the 11 to 1 victory on their home turf on Friday evening. The Pirates crossed 8 runs in the 3rd, which was more then enough for Richetti, who allowed just 1 run off of 4 hits in his 7 innings of work. The 11 runs that crossed the dish on the evening came off of 8 hits and 9 free passes, with 8 runs coming in the 3rd, 2 in the 5th and 1 in the 8th. Topping off the huge 8 run 3rd was Mundarain who knocked a three run shot over the left field fence off of the southpaw, Oberto. With the win Rimini betters their overall record to a 13 and 7 mark, while San Marino drops to 11 and 9.

    

Padova came up with a huge extra inning victory over Godo in Godo on Friday evening. In a game that was dominated by both teams mounds… Quevedo, Gonzalez and Calero for Padova, and Uviedo and Ribeiro for Godo, the game was decided in the 11th as Padova was able to cross two runs off of two fielder’s choices. This victory was a huge one for Padova as they look to keep pace with the top four in the league on their march towards a postseason birth.  This two game set will conclude tonight in Padova, with a game time of 8:30 pm.

   

UnipolSai Bologna completed the two game sweep of Angel Service Nettuno2 down in Rome on Friday evening with the 8 to 3 victory. Picking up the win for Bologna was De Santis, who tossed up a very impressive 5 innings of work, where he allowed just 1 hit, going only a single batter of the minimum through 5. This win puts Bologna in a very good spot towards a guaranteed postseason spot at a 15 and 5 mark.

   

Nettuno came out with a huge win in Parma on Friday evening. The final in this one came out to a 5-0 margin over the home team thanks to a 5 run 5th off of Jimenez. Picking up the win for Nettuno was Estrada with his 6 inning performance, while it was Montoya that earned the save with his 3 innings of relief. This ‘W’ allows Nettuno to keep pace in the standing with the top 4 in the IBL as they are currently fighting to catch up with San Marino in the standings. This two game set will conclude tonight in Parma with a game time set for 8:30 pm
