De Santis lifts Bologna over Rimini, Parma sweeps on a squeeze, T&A walks away 1-1 as does Nettuno2

UnipolSai Bologna gets past Rimini thanks to a spectacular performance by De Santis, some nifty defense by the double play combination of Infante and Vaglio and a couple of timely hits that were accumulate off of Richetti in the 4th and 6th frames. De Santis was lights out through seven innings, as he surrendered just 1 hit and 3 walks in his outing before handing the ball of to Crepaldi for the 8th and 9th. The win puts Bologna back in a tie at the top of the IBL standings after the fifth weekend of play. Next week Bologna will be locked up in a 2 game set with Godo, while Rimini will see the likes of Parma in a home-away two game series.

 

Parma got by Tommasin Padova once again on Saturday evening in Parma thanks to a 10th inning squeeze bunt by Santolupo that pushed the score towards the 5-4 final. The walk off win now puts Parma at a 4 and 6 mark on the season, while it drops Padova to 6 and 4 in the standings… in a deadlock tie with San Marino who they will be facing off with next weekend in a home-away two game series. Picking up the win for Parma out of the pen with a very strong 3 innings pitched was Petrlia, who surrendered just 2 hits while striking out 5 of the 13 batters faced. Parma will do their best to keep their moment going against a tough Rimini club next weekend. 

 

 

T&A San Marino was able to walk away with the series split down in Rome on Saturday evening against Nettuno thanks to a huge come from behind victory that saw 4 runs scored between the 7th and 8th innings. Picking up the win out of the pen was Junior Oberto, as he came on in relief of a Pizziconi that lasted just 1.2 innings. Oberto did allow 8 hits and 4 walks in 7.1 innings on the bump, however he did proceed to put up zero’s, which allowed his club to climb back in the game. In the box for T&A it was Santora, Avagnina, Vasquez, Mazzuca and Imperiali that caused the most chaos with the stick… all having multiple hit performances off of Nettuno’s mound. Suffering the loss for Nettuno was Salciccia. Next weekend it will be San Marino vs. Padova, while Nettuno will be going head to head with Nettuno2.

 

 

Angel Service Nettuno2 got past the Godo Knights in Godo on Saturday evening by the final of 7 to 5. Picking up the win with a solid 5 innings pitched was Milvio Andreozzi, as he surrendered just 1 run in his outing before handing the ball off to his pen. Picking up the save in the 9th for Nettuno2 was Francesco Cozzolino. The two that did the most damage at the plate on the evening for Nettuno2 were Lino Zappone with his 2 for 4, 2 RBI performance, and Mattia Mercuri with his 3 for 5, 1 run and 3 RBI day. Next week it will be Godo against Bologna and Nettuno2 vs their cross city rival, Nettuno.
