Game two was one that was dominated by the two starters, Markwell for Curacao Neptunus and Rivero for UnipolSai Bologna. Getting on the board first in game two in response to a game one loss was Rotterdam after they were able to cross a run in the bottom of inning number three thanks to a lead off double down the left field line off the bat of Daantji on a 2-1 count, a successful sac bunt by U. Kemp, and finally a sac fly to center off the bat of D. Kemp for the 1-0 lead.

In the top of inning number 4 Bologna was able to tie the game up at 1-all after a lead off walk to Liverziani, followed up by a would be bunt single off the bat of Suarez which lead to a throwing error by the Neptunus cacher, Boekhoudt allowing Liverziani to come around a score all the way from first. With no one out in the frame and a runner on second the Rotterdam’s starting pitcher, Diegomar Markwell, was able to dance around Bologna’s offense… Striking out Vaglio, picking off Suarez and finally setting down Sambucci on strikes after an eleven pitch at bat.

After a scoreless 4th and 5th, the home Neptunus were back at it again in the bottom of inning number 7 when they were able to get to Raul Rivero for another run thanks to a one out double down the left field line off the bat of the Neptunus’ right fielder, Diaz, who later came around to score with two outs in the frame on a wild pitch for the 2-1 Neptunus advantage.

In the top of the very next frame, Bologna tied the game up once again when Ambrosino came around to score thanks to a pinch hit single off the bat of Russo (pinch hit for Grimaudo), who greeted Loek Van Mil by swinging at the first pitch of the at bat after Mil had just entered the game in relief of Markwell.

In the bottom of the 8th Rotterdam would cross the unearned, game winning run off of Rivero when Vaglio threw a ball away, allowing U. Kemp to score all the way from second with two outs in the frame.

In the 9th Loek Van Mil was able to hold onto the lead this time for the win, stranding a runner on the sacs after he set down Sabbatani on strikes in a 4 pitch at bat. Picking up the win for Rotterdam was Mil with his 1.2 innings of work in relief of Markwell (7.1 ip, 4 h, 2 r, 1 er, 4 bb, 6 so), while it was Raul Rivero who suffered the loss for Bologna after he allowed 3 runs (2 earned) off of just 4 hits and 3 walks.
