IABF honoree Jon Morosi joins fellow Italian Americans Jason and Steve Grilli at CON3 on January 26, 2019

Jon Morosi, recent recipient of the Italian American Baseball Foundation (IABF) Executive of the Year Award, has been invited by Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball (FIBS) to join Jason and Steve Grilli along with Cleveland Indians Baseball Analytics Analyst Max Marchi for a roundtable talk show format discussion at CON³ 2019 on Saturday, January 26 at 6 pm (Italian local time).

Considered to be the single most important coaches, umpires, and scorers convention in Europe, CON³ takes place at the ultra-chic PalaRiccione Conference Center with its splendid Palazzo dei Congressi in the seaside resort town of Riccione (Emilia Romagna, Italy) from January 25-27, 2019.

At the third annual  Dinner and Fundraiser at in Brooklyn, New York on December 6, 2018, Jon Morosi was honored by the IABF for his outspoken support of competitions like the World Baseball Classic that help grow the game internationally. During interviews with local media and MLB Network, the proud Italian American spoke highly of the IABF and its efforts. Jon Morosi said, "Today is one of the most special days of my career and my life really. The Italian American Baseball Foundation is a really special organization that does something that fits with how I look at baseball which is growing the game all over the world, especially in Italy. You think about the story of Italian Americans here, and how baseball is so intertwined with our experience. It goes back to the DiMaggios and the Berras and anyone who has had the game handed down to them, even if you are just a reporter who loves the game…people who have given you the love of baseball through the years."

Acknowleding the IABF's ongoing support of youth baseball abroad by building and maintaining fields, awarding student-athletes with scholarships and financial aid, purchasing uniforms and equipment as well as organizing pitching, fielding, and hitting clinics with MLB instructors under the guidance of FIBS, Jon Morosi praised the 501(c)(3) charity. He continued by saying: "I think this organization does a great job of giving back and also looking ahead to what the game could represent in Italy because we’ve seen it through the World Baseball Classic (WBC), which anybody who has followed anything I have ever written knows how much I love the tournament. I think we see it from the moment we have been given the WBC, whether it’s Italy, Colombia, Israel…the way these countries performed in these tournaments is a springboard to really spread the gospel of baseball around the world. To me it’s an amazing thing. It’s a great gift that you see, and for me it’s an honor to be involved even in a very small way in helping grow the game in Italy and around the world."
