Italy came out on top for the second day in a row, this time over Great Britain by the final of 9-0

Italy came out on top for the second day in a row, this time over Great Britain by the final of 9-0. The win now puts the Italians at 3 and 2 at the World Softball Championship in Holland. Team Italy is now positioned to fight it out for a birth in the second round of the tournament. Next up for the Italians will be Chinese Taipei (2-3) and then the 5 and 0 Team USA.

Italy first got on the board in the 2nd against Great Britain on an RBI single to right by Longhi and an RBI infield single off the bat of Grifagno. In the 4th Italy tacked on another run when Barone scored on a throwing error after stealing third. With the score at 3-0 entering into the 7th, Italy was able to put the game out of reach with a 6 run frame, a 6 run, 3 hit, 5 error, inning of ball by Great Britain on ‘D’. Picking up the win for Italy on the mound was Debora Moretto. Moretto went the distance, giving up only 4 hits, 0 runs, 4 walks, while striking out a total of 8.
